There is something about a place built with your own hands that never really lets go of you.
The Hobbies Shop has always been more than shelves and products to me. It is years of conversations, laughter across tables, the quiet focus of someone building something for the first time, and the feeling that you belong the moment you walk through the door.
That has not changed.
What is changing is my place in it.
You may not see me in the shop as much as you once did. Not every day, not behind the counter, not in every moment. But do not mistake distance for absence. I am still here. Still guiding. Still building. Still focused on what this shop is and what it is becoming.
Our team is growing. Amanda, Zach, and Tessa are learning, stepping into their roles, finding their rhythm, and making the space their own while carrying forward everything this place stands for. Give them time. Give them your patience. They care more than you know.
And me?
I am never far.
I am a phone call away when something needs to be solved, when a question needs an answer, when something matters. Because this place still matters to me. Deeply.
My goal has never been just to run a store. It has always been to build something that lasts. A place where people can come together, create, play, learn, and find a piece of themselves in the process.
That work continues.
We are here. We are open. We are growing.
You can still shop with us online, and you can still walk through our doors and pick up what you need, just like always.
The Hobbies Shop is not stepping back. It is stepping forward.
And I will always be part of that journey.
